SOUNDWAVE 2013 - CAMPAIGN FOR A BAND - PHASE 3 OVER

From my guesses the cuts would have been*:
1. cut out all that didn't qualify
2. cut out all that SW already know/have contact with
3. cut down to final 20 from the remaining
*could be 100% wrong

Seeing Spineshank on the list takes me back to early '00s playing Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder
And whenever I read Carridale I read it as Canidae, an awesome local Adelaide band

Can only mean one thing. They are already on the bill to play next year.

Haha, one can only hope. The no campaign is probably due to there having already been a campaign for them last year and thus already on AJ's radar.

I hopy you're right. I would have backed Dethklok for sure.

also..

HEY MILLSY ya kent! haha

Put me down for Trust Company.

Already sent PM to Ben Elles about backing Volumes, such an underrated band.

Hopefully SW brings some other Djent back to Aus.

... Maybe TesseracT or Periphery? Smile

Alright so I have finally got onto a computer now. My campaign has passed to stage 2 so add another one to the list.

My campaigning band is Evile. If you are a fan of any of the Big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax), there is a good chance you will like Evile. They have never been to Australia due to a lack of funding as they have not received the recognition they deserve. Their history is already similar to Metallica's with the sudden death of their first bass player in Sweden in 2009.

They have released 3 albums so far, all amazing in their own way. Please check them out and back them if you like the sounds of them as us fans and the band themselves would really like to come down under and play for us. The guys are really down to earth and talk to all fans on facebook/twitter just like ordinary people.

Please PM if you would like to back Evile!

I don't want to spam this forum too much of Youtube videos so I'll just post one; the title track of their latest album 'Five Serpents Teeth'. (I don't know how to show the video in the post!)

I just want to say that this year's process > last year's process.

Only 20 bands making the cut compared to everybody's campaign making it through is easier on everyone. Whoever came up with that idea is a good person.

Ryan, I am backing Believer.

If Korpiklaani makes it to Soundwave I'll start saving now to make the journey across the ditch, and hopefully have a Beer Beer with them, that would make me a very Happy Little Boozer Wink

Okay guys, gals and metal freaks......
My name is BJ and my campaign has successfully passed to Round 2 for HAVOK !!!!

If you call yourself a thrash fan and have not heard of this band, 1) what rock have you been living under, and 2) be prepared to get re-schooled !!!

HAVOK are the thrash metal powerhouse reigning from Colorado formed in 2004. After two self-released albums, the band caught the attention of England’s Candlelight Records.

Burn was released in early spring of 2009. Incorporating blisteringly fast guitar riffs, machine-like drumming, groovy bass lines, searing leads, and hard-hitting vocals, HAVOK is able to maintain that *punch-you-in-the-throat* style of music.

Fast forward to 2011 and the Denver-based thrashers returned with their second album. The band turns the heat up with new thrash anthems. Time Is Up immediately showcases the band’s highly skilled musicianship. Blistering guitar work once again highlights the album.

Their recently released EP – Point Of No Return presents two brand new Havok originals alongside two classic covers of Sepultura‘s Arise and a medley of Slayer‘s Postmortem and classic Raining Blood. Both covers have been executed with precise brilliance.

Although there are many other thrash bands out there, there is one thing that sets HAVOK apart from the others. This band puts their own stamp on the genre by employing a more technical side of music, while maintaining the feel.

HAVOK’s live show is where the band really catches peoples’ attention, with their non-stop energy level and their ability to get the audience involved. They are a must-see for any fan of live music!
